Making Chocolate Edibles Recipes a Success

As cannabis becomes legalized across the country, the demand for edibles is on the rise. When creating your own amazing chocolate edibles, know that it can be a true challenge. It takes time and patience to achieve the results you want, just as the ideal cannabis does. Here are recipes as well as tips to help get you started on your mouth-watering journey.

Choose the Best Materials

Making Chocolate Edibles Recipes a SuccessDeciding on the type of chocolate you will use is critical in order to make any chocolate edibles recipe a success. It’s important that you keep in mind that price is often connected to the quality of the chocolate itself. This means that higher quality means higher price, so you must decide how much you are willing to spend on your marijuana edibles. Once you have your ideal chocolate, and your preferred cannabis, it’s time to move on to recipes.

The Ideal Recipe

Before you can enjoy your chocolate edibles, you need a great recipe. Before you get started, however, be aware that you will need to manually heat up the cannabis in order to cause the THCA to become psychoactive. This is also known as decarboxylation. Simply follow the steps below to ensure that your marijuana is in the ideal state before mixing it with your chocolate. Keep in mind you should use approximately 3 to 5 grams of cannabis per 100 grams of chocolate.

  • Decarboxylate your cannabis by heating your oven to as close to 115 C, or 240 degrees F as possible. This will take at least 30 minutes. Proceed to melt your chocolate. Use steam to avoid burning your chocolate. You can do this with a double boiler or through the use of a glass bowl over a saucepan.
  • Once your chocolate is melted, mix in your cannabis. Be sure that you grind the buds as finely as possible for the best results. Place the mixed chocolate into any mold or ice cube tray. To remove air bubbles, gently lift the mold 10cm off the table and let it drop back down.
  • Place the molds in the fridge until they have hardened. Enjoy!

Now that you have great tips and a recipe to get you going, you’re now ready to make your own cannabis chocolate edibles. Enjoy your treats, and remember to allow your body at least 45 minutes to digest each edible before consuming more.
